ADVANCED COACHING SKILLS
3 DAY COACH TRAINING PROGRAMME
What you will experience & learn:
To ensure quality, and in contrast with many other coach training providers you will never be in a training group with more than six delegates. This is a unique feature of the Nine Coaching Advanced Coaching Skills Programme. Furthermore, you will also receive supervision of a live coaching session (which is presented as an audio/ visual recording) in addition to your three days training.
The course is delivered over three full days. The programme consists of direct teaching, experiential personal development exercises, and coaching skills practice (to include practice between training sessions). The training will take place over two sequential days, and then a follow up day a few weeks later. This allows reflective learning to take place between sessions, and provides you with the opportunity to undertake additional skills practice.
How your coaching competence is assessed:
Coaching is a competence and skills based activity. The purpose of the Advanced Coaching Skills programme is to ensure that learners meet the following essential learning outcomes, in order to demonstrate competence & skills that are recognised within the coaching industry:
LO1. To work ethically & safely in managing the boundaries of coaching
LO2. To enhance existing communication skills to develop a coaching relationship that focuses upon meeting the needs of the coachee
LO3. To gain understanding of theoretical frameworks to guide the coaching process
LO4. To increase self awareness to enhance the effectiveness of coaching delivery
The Advanced Coaching Skills programme has an external assessment component, and this takes the form of a written self reflective critique of your coaching practice which is submitted to the course facilitator within six weeks of completion of the taught three days. You will also audio record one coaching session, to stimulate self reflection. In addition to your three days training, you will have a 1:1 supervision session with Nicola who will give you feedback based on your audio recording, and you will submit your written self assessment up to six weeks following supervision.
All delegates are provided with comprehensive training materials, to include a downloadable Coaching Handbook as a companion to learning, and an Assessment Manual with useful documents and templates to continue to guide your professional coaching practice upon receipt of your qualification.
Your progression route following the Advanced Coaching Skills Programme:
Coaching is currently an unregulated industry, however there are well established and reputable professional bodies. Nicola @ Nine Coaching is passionate about training competent coaches, and recognises that your development as a coach is an ongoing and exciting learning process! The Association for Coaching (AC), European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) and the International Coach Federation (ICF) offer membership and accreditation schemes, and I encourage coaches to consider applying for accreditation upon completion of their initial training.
These bodies have varied routes upon which you might wish to develop as a professional coach, and you will be required to demonstrate evidence of how you meet coaching competence. You can evidence competences around the key areas of: ethical practice, boundary setting, coaching theory, using coaching skills within a relationship and self awareness. You can claim 21 hours of taught training, & in addition, you can demonstrate 6 hours of 1:1 coaching practice, 1 hour of supervision & 3 hours of self study. If you have completed a masterclass you can also claim these taught hours (6 hours), as there is no overlap in the content of these trainings. This brings you to a total of 37 hours. Some bodies require that you demonstrate a minimum of 35 hours core training, so this route helps you to meet that requirement.
To assist you, the coaching competencies assessed and endorsed by ILM upon completion of the Advanced Coaching Skills programme meet the essential competencies that bodies such as AC and EMCC measure as part of their accreditation processes.
A further consideration if you are also a therapist is that BACP now include coaching within the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2016). If you are integrating coaching into your practice, the framework would expect you to demonstrate that you have a certain level of competency and skill in the field of coaching. You can be assured that the Advanced Coaching Skills programme will equip you to do this.
Where your learning will take place
Your training will take place in the beautiful rooms of ‘Nine Wellbeing’ in the coastal area of West Kirby, Wirral, which is easily accessed by rail and public transport. Nine Wellbeing is situated 5 minutes from the beach and provides a tranquil, safe learning environment. All refreshments are provided, but you will have a little time to sit in the garden, or take a stroll to the marine lake and/or the beachfront, to aid your reflections.
How much does the ‘Advanced Coaching Skills’ Training Cost?
The tuition fees cost £800. This fee also includes a comprehensive coaching handbook, an assessment handbook, and lunch and all refreshments for the three days. In addition, you will receive a 1:1 coaching supervision (usual cost £100-£150 per hour) session with an experienced and qualified coach, to help you to develop your skills, and work professionally as a coach.
There is an additional ILM Registration Fee of £80. This fee is charged directly by ILM* and is required to secure your booking. This also ensures that you have met the ILM standard of coaching, and as such, you will receive an ILM Endorsed certificate, which demonstrates external recognition of the training that you have undertaken.
Therefore, the total cost of your training is £880.
When you attend a Nine Coaching Masterclass, you receive a 10% discount on the Advanced Coaching Skills Programme (subject to time limit).
* Includes an £11 admin fee
