Nine Coaching Philosophy
Nine Coaching advances the notion of growth and fulfilment, with the aim of inspiring you to live the best life you can. The philosophy of Nine Coaching embraces the concept of ‘Eudaimonia’; a Greek word translated as happiness, welfare & human flourishing, and is a phrase commonly used by philosophers to describe ‘living the good life’. Developing coaching skills will help you to overcome obstacles that stand in the way of you creating the meaningful life you seek; whether that meaning is sought in relationships, career, work life balance, self image, or other aspects of being.
Nicola Forshaw, the founder & Lead Coach @ Nine Coaching, has enjoyed a long coaching career. She established her first 1:1 private coaching practice (NJ Coaching) during 2005, which featured on Sky TV & BBC radio. Nicola’s individual coaching services have since evolved into inspiring and teaching others to train as coaches, and the delivery of bespoke ILM endorsed coach training programmes within private, health & corporate sectors. Nicola has consulted on introducing coaching into medicine and training Senior Consultants in coaching skills and this work has been published in the BACP Journal, Coaching Today. Furthermore, as a health professional, Nicola has devised bespoke coach training programmes for therapists and other allied health professionals to enable them to inspire others to grow. This training is externally endorsed by ILM.
As an established psychotherapist, Nicola’s philosophy is to help others to improve their lives, often by resolving past trauma and hurts, and offers psychotherapy services @ Nine Wellbeing. Arising from Nine Wellbeing, the aim of Nine Coaching is to extend this philosophy further by facilitating others to design and achieve their vision of the future. Nicola and her associate coaches @ Nine Coaching are here to inspire, challenge and encourage you towards ‘living the good life’ that you are currently only imagining.

The Values of Nine Coaching – Quality, Challenge & Commitment
Coaching is all about bringing about change through learning and experimentation, and Nine coaching offers you a stimulating learning environment whether you are undertaking 1:1 coaching, or training to be a coach. Nicola. as the Lead Coach & Trainer @ Nine Coaching, is committed to offering an inspirational learning environment. As an accomplished skills trainer, Nicola has also enjoyed an Academic Career lecturing on Counselling & Psychotherapy Masters’ programmes at Keele and Chester Universities. In addition to operating Nine Coaching, Nicola holds a strategic project management position with BACP, the largest UK counselling and psychotherapy professional body. This means that any coaching services offered by Nicola, or her associates @ Nine Coaching, will always uphold the highest ethical quality standards.
Whether you are an individual who is embarking upon 1:1 coaching in order to make lasting change and improvement to your life, or an individual/organisation seeking to develop additional skills by undertaking coach training, you can be assured of a commitment to quality.
To demonstrate this commitment, should you join Nine Coaching for your coach training, you will never be in a training group of more than 6 for the Advanced Coaching Skills Programme, or 8 for the Nine Coaching Masterclass. The idea being that smaller training groups provide an intimate, attentive environment that can stimulate learning, and this philosophy is in direct contrast with many other coach training providers. As a further demonstration of the 9 Coaching commitment to quality, all coach training is externally endorsed and approved by ILM.
The philosophy of Nine Coaching is to offer a dynamic & stimulating environment where your learning and growth can be achieved. This applies whether you are seeking individual 1:1 coaching, or undertaking coaching training. You can be assured that your coach is committed to challenging you to overcome your limits and reach your full potential.
Ready to take the first step? Here is how Nine Coaching can help you
If you are an individual who is looking to make change in your life, undertaking 1:1 coaching encourages you to become your own life coach. By prioritising one area of your life that you want to significantly improve, you develop self-coaching skills that you can apply to other areas of your life long after 1:1 coaching has finished. Taking this approach to coaching is an investment, which can lead to independent, lasting results.
If you are a therapist or other allied health professional who is looking to develop coaching skills to develop personally and professionally and inspire and help others, there is an ILM endorsed coach training programme for you. As a psychotherapist, Nicola has devised bespoke, ILM endorsed, coach training programmes for health professionals. You can find out more here.
If you are an organisation who is seeking to reduce expensive external coaching fees by developing internal coaching capacity, you can find out more about consultancy services and ILM endorsed coach skills training programmes.
